You are responsible for OpenSynergy’s IT infrastructure and the introduction and maintenance of different tools to support our teams.

Your tasks

  • You are responsible for OpenSynergy’s IT infrastructure and the introduction and maintenance of different tools to support our teams. The IT infrastructure includes Windows and Linux Servers as well as heterogeneous clients running Windows, Linux and OSx, either directly or through virtualization. Our general infrastructure includes an MS Exchange Server, SVN-Server and the usual office tools. On top of that there are specific services such as a CRM database for the sales team and the engineering tools such as our configuration databases, nightly build systems, various Atlassian tools and automated test systems.

  • You are responsible for the availability and security of OpenSynergy's IT infrastructure, as well as the adherence to all legal as well as specific customer requirements. You will lead a small team and ensure, that all users of our infrastructure get the support needed to set up their clients and use the IT services you provide. You will be responsible for tracking the use of commercial software at OpenSynergy and the adherence to all relevant license policies. You and your team will maintain the existing systems and improve them. You will make proposals to management for changes or additions needed to ensure the constant growth of the company and alert management of potential risks or issues. Currently OpenSynergy IT supports over 150 accounts around the globe. The company is growing continually and the IT needs to scale accordingly.

Our Expectations

  • You have a degree in Computer Science or have similar qualifications and experience

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in IT operations in the fields of infrastructure and application operation, ideally in a software company

  • Profound knowledge in managing heterogeneous IT infrastructures with mentioned technologies

  • Self-contained, pragmatic working methods and problem-solving competence

  • Extensive experience with the administration of such systems and their relevant standards (e.g. ITIL)

  • Strong awareness of the legal requirements and issues such as security and privacy

  • Relevant practical experience in the field of digitization - preferably with project experience

  • Ability to communicate and process complex issues in a structured and target-group-oriented manner

  • Experience in preparing security audits and certifications would be desirable

  • You have a good command of spoken and written English, German is not mandatory
