BMW completes feasibility study with COQOS
Next generation BMW head-units will not only serve as a central entertainment unit, but will also integrate critical automotive applications that are currently running on separate hardware units. In a feasibility study of this concept, BMW selected OpenSynergy's COQOS as virtualization solution. Compared to alternative solutions, COQOS fits the requirements, allows the use of a GenIVI-compliant Linux kernel and comes with full AUTOSAR support. The study has demonstrated that COQOS makes it possible to integrate applications with very different requirements on the head-unit.
